    I have tried newer versions of Minecraft, but they still don't load.

    I have downloaded the server for forge and added the mods(version 1.12.2). When I join the server, the mods are in the inventory, but if I try to use one, it glitchs out of existence. The portal guns just won't fire. What should I do?
