    PLEASE HELP--forge download and minecraft upload failure

    Ok. So I want to get mods on Minecraft so I followed the steps that multiple youtube videos and websites have listed out. I downloaded forge and went to open it but I got a message saying that my computer couldn't open this file because it didn't recognize the developer. I then downloaded some jdk thing that supposedly allowed me to open it. However, when I go into minecraft and look in the versions tab or whatever its called forge doesn't show up. I've downloaded like 20 different things to my computer at this point and its been 2 hours. PLEASE HELP.
