This is consistent with my observation. I was puzzled as the only block I was seeing as rendered was frame with wool in it. Due the items 3D cube shape it juts out from the front (or in this case the rear) of the frame.

I am, however I uninstalled to see if it persisted and it does. It does not occur with Optifine alone. Thank you for giving this your attention.
