  1. So my sister wanted to play minecraft again after a while and tried to download 1.12.2-14.23.5.2768 for forge so she could play a specific mod called pixelmon. But when she downloaded the installer and tried to run it, it just creates a .txt file of the same name. I decided to test this on my own computer and it does the same. I have the latest version of Java. I keep making sure to open with java. I attempted to use jarfix, to no avail. I have tried to research this issue further but can only find the installer itself being in .txt and the fixes didn't work. I was able to download forge 1.12- 14.23.5.2855 with no issues whatsoever. Does she have to have this one specific version of forge to play this mod? If so does anyone know what the problem was? I thought it was an extension hijack by another program but jarfix didn't work so I am unsure which program would open it as a .txt file. Thank you for your time and have a great day.
