so what happens is that when i open installer it opens cmd prompt and closes right after but doesn't install stuff any help

So i wanted to download some mods and for that i needed v1.12.2 forge so went here and downloaded it. Once i turned it on it just opens the cmd prompt and closes. Any ideas ??
