Right, so make a new profile for Forge 1.16.5 or earlier and set that profile up just for the older version, because the profile Forge created will always get the newer version as they come out. Is there any way to not have to manually move one version's mods out of the Mods folder and move the other version's mods back in every time I switch? I was hoping Forge would ignore the mods that weren't meant for that specific version.

The last two versions of Forge for 1.17.1, both 37.0.103 and 37.0.104, crash immediately on startup. Neither installer will install into an existing 1.17.1 install, but they both attempt to update a working 1.16.5 install and crashing that one. I have to manually go back in and change the 1.16.5 install back to using 36.1.13 so I can play 1.16.5 with mods. Can the 1.17.1 37.0.103 installer be forced to create a new profile in the launcher?
