  1. The game crashed whilst rendering overlay Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't watch config file. Tried forge 47.2.20, 50.1.0, and 50.1.12 with the same results. Running on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, OpenJDK version 21.0.4. Base game launches fine, No mods installed for the moment. debug.log: https://pastebin.com/K103hmKi Edit: followed the instructions in other posts for Code 255: deleting file forge-client.toml with no effect. File reappears with each launch.
  2. Weird. The only option I ever set was the RAM options. Thanks, reseting the arguments in the launcher worked.
  3. Can you elaborate? I have never seen this before.

  5. Just updated to 1.18.1. Error present on forge versions 39.0.63 &39.0.64. I installed 39.0.64 first & downgraded to 63. Error only occurs with forge, 1.18.1 vanilla loads fine. No mods installed at this time. Steps taken: reinstalled java, reinstalled forge, reinstalled minecraft. No Change. Using Java classic launcher. Just tried adoptium version - same result https://gist.github.com/anon1593/65c66c64b1bcb7b026d3b27c55103059
