    I want one of my items to take damage when crafted with (like the Forge Hammer or Cutters from IC2, for example). I was under the impression that this would be relatively simple considering how often it seems to appear in mods but apparently I am mistaken. I thought it would just involve making a custom class of items that would stay in the grid and take a set amount of damage when crafted with, but I've been told by a member of a modding community I am in that I need to deal with something called a recipe serializer. I wouldn't normally post here, but I haven't been able to find any modern documentation about it.
