    The code on the Wiki is pretty easy to understand. It is an intermediate tutorial after all. The first two prerequisites are: Prerequisites An understanding of java An understanding of vanilla minecraft and a basic understanding of forge IF you're having a hard time try studying the Forge Javadoc and experimenting with the code.
