    I can't download forge on my dell inspiron

    I have been attempting to install forge so I can mod my mineraft but it won't let me. Every time I go to install forge it tells me to open it with an app (or look for a similar app in microsoft store). I tried looking up articles online that had me do a coding solution by entering "java -Xnx2G -..." I don't remember the whole thing it had me enter but that didn't work either and came up with an error code. I don't have the Java version of minecraft, I have the windows version. I used to have java but it merged with windows and moved me to the windows edition rather than the Java edition. Please help me mod my minecraft.
