installing the client

i went on forge to download it and when it was done i only got a file and could not install the client -
When i go on the forge webside and i click download i then click skib and the download comes in the bottom on the screenand i just get file where everybody i see install it get a java thing where they can click on it and download the forge client tho i just get a file what can i do?
