I can't believe I missed this. Removing the quotation marks around "tutorialmod" fixed it. For anyone who may have this issue in the future, check your files carefully. Solved.

Hey folks. I'm taking my first steps toward Minecraft modding through this nifty tutorial series by Kaupenjoe, but on 1.19.2 Forge instead of 1.19. I've been following his instructions and everything's been working up until now - I can't seem to get this modded item to show up properly in-game.
