Whenever I try to boot up forge-40.2.17 my game crashes and this error message occurs:

Exit Code: -1*
I looked at other forums and saw that I needed to delete any forge file in my config folder. But when I went into .minecraft, there was no config folder. I tried creating one myself, hoping that the game would automatically replace it but I kept getting the same error message. Please help I really am clueless.
