oh but isn't minecraft forge the launcher not the api

I found a vanilla plus mod that adds a rpg twist to it but it lacked a bit in weapons and in blocks. So I added a More weapon variants mod and more blocks for decoration, but I noticed that the crafting recipes work but the item doesn't show up in the crafting slot. For some reason it doesn't craft the item is obtainable but only through creative. I haven't ran into any crashing or problems, its just the crafting that I can't figure out why its doing that.
