  1. My bad you are correct on the server being repo.maven.apache.org, sorry. I saw the first entry { "name": "net.minecraftforge:minecraftforge:8.9.0.761", "url": "http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/" }, and did not notice the at later ones were for the other site. We are getting an error on this one Finished downloading C:\Users\Danny\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\minecraftforge\minecraftforge\8.9.0.761\minecraftforge-8.9.0.761.jar for job 'Version & Libraries': Couldn't connect to server (responded with 404) but have local file, assuming it's good
  2. Yep seen this multiple times. Can't login to a lot of servers when I use my forge profile.
  3. Close the game a hit the logout button on the launcher and then relogin/enter you password on the launcher. The profile that you actually logged into last is the only valid one. I have multiple profiles and have had this problem, so I make sure that I always log out and back in when switching profiles or If I have any other login issues.
  4. Use the installer. It will create a new version for you and modify it.
  5. Log out and log back into the launcher. When I had this problem it solved it. I think it is a problem with the new authentication code in minecraft not forge.
  6. Really? Hmm..... Are you sure? Doesn't look like it to me. Finished downloading C:\Users\Danny\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\org\scala-lang\scala-library\2.10.2\scala-library-2.10.2.jar for job 'Version & Libraries': Didn't have etag so assuming our copy is good Finished downloading C:\Users\Danny\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\org\scala-lang\scala-compiler\2.10.2\scala-compiler-2.10.2.jar for job 'Version & Libraries': Didn't have etag so assuming our copy is good Note the "Didn't have etag" part of the message? Minecraft Launcher is looking for a etag. A header which s3.amazonaws.com returns and files.minecraftforge.net does not. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_ETag Quick fix edit the .jason file and look for all occurrences of "url": and change it to //"url": this will stop it from downloading the file from files.minecraftforge.net, it will then try to get it from s3.amazonaws.com which does not have the file and it will use the local copy which it does anyway. Hopefully forge will figure out how to fix this on there server and it will work correctly on the next version.
  7. I think that all mod loaders should use a mods folder in the minecraft directory selected by the profile. Both 1.5.2 and 1.6.1 the servers.dat file is the one pointed to by the directory entry in the profile. Have that directory structure containing all of the data for that profile only make since. I don't know how many times I have accidentally loaded SSP world with a mod pack I had used for it missing and had blocks and items vanish. It really sucks. Lex, please think of the not-so-enlightened that build their own packs. Personally, I would have preferred something like: /mods/(ForgeVersionName)/ModPack(s).jar Nice and simple, allows for switching between mods based on the version they use in the minecraft launcher profiles. Food for thought... The only reason to have a version under the mods directory would be useful if for some reason you were running different versions in the same directory, but you would still run into the problem of blocks/items not supported in one version or another vanishing. So I think it would be better just to keep them separate and just move the save to the version you wanted to play it on. Right now I'm just renaming into the libraries directory and adding into the jason file for the version so I can have different versions with different mods, now if I can only figure out how to stop them from trying to update. In the future it looks like mods will be going in resource packs. See https://gist.github.com/Dinnerbone/5662824 This post contains mostly my opinions and I take full responsibility for the ones that are mine.
  8. Found your problem by looking at your stacktrace. Try removing the META-INF directory if you are on windows or just the contents if you are on a MAC.
  9. I just download a fresh version and had no problems. I have installed the following: minecraftforge-universal-1.5.2-7.8.1.737 OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_U_D5 liteloader_1.5.2 with the following in .minecraft/mods directory: [1.5.2]ReiMinimap_v3.3_06 mod_macros_0.9.9_for_1.5.2.litemod I would like to see a version for 1.5.2 that used the minecraft directory selected in the profile since I will be playing multiple versions until all of the servers and mod I use update to 1.6. Can we get a fix for this please?
