    Honestly, great explanation. And yeah, I’d second the part about not rewriting the whole mod just for a small tweak - mixins or a simple patch mod are almost always the cleaner option. Copy-pasting the whole source into a new project works, sure, but it becomes a nightmare to maintain later. If it’s just for you and your friends, keep it simple and don't overthink it. Mixins are definitely the “least cursed” way to pull this off.
