    I tried using the regular minecraft launcher still with Forge-1.6.2 profile and still no luck. Still randomly changing usernames. Thank you for getting back to me btw

    This is obviously my first time posting. I am new to forge and am also just a mod loader, not creator. Please bare with me. I run the latest forge with magic loader and optifine, all up to date. Issue: My friend and I were playing on lan and upon seeing eachother for the first time we noticed not only did we have generic player names i.e. "Player365" but we were also generic Steve, instead of our saved characters. Now this might not be a Forge issue, but when I changed back to 1.6.2 (non-forge) we both logged in and saw our saved characters. Thus leading me here. I'm pretty computer literate, I have looked around the versions files, and all the edit-able files to see if there was key words like "username", "name", "player" just to see if I could change something without having to bother people, but alas here I am. TL;DR: My character shows up as Steve, with a generic name like"Player365". Suspecting Forge. What do? Thanks everyone
