The installer is not installing?

That was confusing, but thanks! didn't expect there to be a forge profile. -
I attempted to install forge onto my 1.6.2 minecraft today. When i entered the site i saw the instructions to use the installer, but when i run the installer it says that it installed, while in fact there is no difference. No mods folder is created for me to put my mods into, neither do i see any difference in the title screen.
