  1. alright ill try it. and you mean deleting or removing my 1.6.2 vanilla version folder?
  2. i dont touch my .jar at all. i never have and i dont plan on it.... even with the new copies that i download and install
  3. how do i know what is an unmodified jar? i have tried 4 different version from the files section of these forums, the 3 newest at the time and the recommended
  4. i had this problem, i just re-installed my java to the newest version (even though im pretty sure i had the newest version already) and it opened.
  5. i ran vanilla, then i ran the forge version. still crashed and when i opened the jar up idk what is and isnt supposed to be there, the only think i know that is not there is the meta-inf folder which i dont think its supposed to be there
  6. i have never edited the jar that was installed
  7. i went a installed the latest installer from the files part of the website. yes i used the installer i run the game by opening the minecraft launcher, chosing the forge account, making sure it has the forge .jar chosen, i hit play and then i recieve that message. i have gotten that message every time i try to install forge. i have tried today, last week and about a month ago with all different versions of forge and have gotten the same message each time i followed this video
  8. i installed forge and i wanted to see if everything was working, when i start up minecraft under the forge jar, the message i get is [sEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] Technical information: The class net.minecraft.client.ClientBrandRetriever should have been associated with the minecraft jar file, and should have returned us a valid, intact minecraft jar location. This did not work. please help
