I just figured that today... *facepalm* -
Check that you don't have any older mods in the /mods folder. I had this same problem. Its the incompatibility.

When I was trying to install forge, this would be the problem. Forge for 1.5.2- Would have a /mod folder, right? Forge for 1.6+ would also have one. I had mods in the 1.5.2 /mod folder, so when I tried to launch the Forge Profile, it failed. Multiple times. When I finally realized that, I had to remove my 1.5 mods. The only way I can think of to fix this, is to install the mods into the 1.5.2 MC jar. Is there a way to maybe, fix that? - Dalienfail
