  1. Its just what happens to be supplied by Software Update. Also, I'm running on Snow Leopard, which lacks support for Oracle's Java 7. Before you ask, I am only 15, so don't really own the computer or have a bank account with which to buy a newer version of OS X, also, OS X Maveriks is reported to be buggy at this moment in time.
  2. Thanks. I have (just today) downloaded the most recent version of Java 6 (1.6.0_41-b02-445), so perhaps it was that. I'll try going to an earlier version and see if that works.
  3. I have downloaded the 10.12.0.1002 installer, however when I try to open it, nothing happens; the window doesn't appear and when I open it with console, this message comes up: So then I looked for the log file that was produced: Assuming someone understands the error, is it something to do with forge being unstable, or am I just doing something wrong? Thanks, Anno861 [Edit 22/1/2014]: Found the problem, for some reason, an update didn't actually install, but the computer thought it did and was trying to use something that wasn't there. Something to do with trying to update things that require a computer restart with things that don't makes them download but not install...
  4. I did this but it still didn't read forge for me. I used the client installer first, got the try again message, then extracted the file you linked to my .minecraft. Any help please? Edit: Nevermind, I tried the installer after and it worked fine, all set up.
