Edit: problem seem to be solved. Something basic indeed - I just had to use installer :-) I just didn't thought that there is working installer for Linux
Hello. It is my first attempt to install Forge - so maybe I am missing something simple or basic. I am running gentoo Linux on AMD64 and I tried two different approaches to install and run FML. I am using IcedTea JDK at the moment.
Here is what I tried (in both cases I used recommended source version of 1.6.4 FML, and I have minecraft 1.6.4)
1. Inside the .zip file I have found README-MinecraftForge.txt, and it says:
and
I have astyle and wine installed on my system. I did copy all files to my minecraft.jar. Jar is 20 times bigger now, than before, it is starting normally, that's all. When I try to edit profiles I can't choose forge as my version - I still see only standard versions there. So I guess FML is not installed - maybe I am wrong ? Anyway videos that I have found on YT show, that after installing Forge I should be able to change minecraft version to version with "forge" in it's name. I don't have such possibility.
2. Second way - I found this page: http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/Installation/Source
I unpacked .zip to forge directory. (source version 1.6.4 recommended, again). I ran install.sh. It downloaded tons of libraries, assets, sounds etc. Everything seems to be fine - only lines that indicate problems are:
(several times) and
Here's full console:
So I have this forge folder now (almost 200 MB) and don't know what to do with it.
3. I have just tried 3rd attempt - this time with universal installer. When I run it, then
I tried to download http://files.minecraftforge.net/fmllibs/fml_libs15.zip , placed them in the ~/.minecraft/lib directory - nothing changed.
