    I just use it in a crafting table with the item that i want to transmutate.I tried using it as a tool that takes damage when I craft with it but it creates 1024 pages of the same recipe when I look at the nei recipes.

    I have tried to make an item (exchanger) that can change items and blocks in other items and blocks like ee3 but i can`t figure out how to do that because it consumes the exchanger as well as the items.I have looked in other mods source codes and searched for tutorials but cannot find a good one for 1.6.4. If anyone can help me with a good tutorial that would be awesome.
