Pixelmon forge server outdated- cant play on old world

but my pixelmon world was on 1.7.10. thats why i dont understand it. it so confusing -
So my forge server told me that forge may be outdated so i downloaded a copy of my world deleted my whole server installed the latest forge version. install the pixelmon mod and uploaded my world again. but i cant run my world. so i decided to delete the world and tried to play with a new world. it worked. soo i don't understand why my old world wont work. anybody a solution for my problem ? or was it wrong how i updated my forge server ? lateroy
