    I've been reading through the Java website, went into the Java control panel and found I had both. I reinstalled Java from scratch and now Minecraft works with Forge. Thanks!

    I'm using Java 7 update 67. Java 8 isn't available for download.

    I didn't get a crash report, but found this contents from a file in the Logs directory, fml-client-1. No mods were placed in Mods directory. Vanilla game loads fine.
