I'm debating the pros and cons of trying to hook into the vanilla cauldron for some "brewing" recipes, as opposed to basically just making a copy of the item and programming it from scratch. Right now the only way I know to do anything with the cauldron (other than the vanilla "hold water" function) is to require the player to right-click with a specific item (which seems a bit ridiculous since none of the other crafting blocks work that way) I'm pretty sure there are overrides I could use but... Is there an easy way to hook a GUI and effect into the vanilla cauldron or should I just make my own? (I've noticed most mods go with the "make your own" method so I assume that's the best choice, but it seems a shame to waste the vanilla cauldron like that)
