    installing Forge

    hey sorry if this is a stupid question but when i am trying to install forge all that is happening is its loading up the regular minecraft without setting up fml at all. and when i get to the main menu of minecraft there is no button for mods? i got a fresh copy of minecraft.jar and dragged and dropped everything from the forge zip file. i tried it at least 3 different times now. i'm not getting any errors just minecraft is loading as if there isnt even forge. i have the latest forge that is recommended as of 9.14.12 please help
