  1. Thanks for the answer... I did run minecraft before using forge...forge never worked on my machine. I am running the 1.8.3 version of minecraft. when I click the forge file .jar, I cannot install the client and therefore cannot use forge. So what you're telling me is that I need to somehow find a way to run minecraft 1.8 first? Then install forge then install minecraft 1.8.3? Sorry but that doesn't make sense to me. Obviously I am missing something. Thanks for the help
  2. I downloaded the latest, when I click it, if I chose run client, I get an error message saying I need to run version 8 manually at least once and shuts down. If I click extract, it put the .jar file in the minecraft folder. When I click on the .jar file in the minecraft folders the Java minecraft server windows pop up. It shows stats, players and log and chat. Then I launch the game but it when I go to edit the profile of the player, there is no forge profile. Therefore my mods aren't loading Can you please help?
