The mod folder is empty. I'm currently checking if my Eclipse project is interfering with forge.

When trying to load 1.8 with the latest version of forge, even without mods, causes the game to crash without even starting the loader. My launcher has the new "non-java launcher update" message and even on the new minecraft launcher, it still crashes. After finishing the basics of my mod, I'm trying to convert my java code into a .jar file using gradle. It seems to be something with the FML. This is my first ever go at programming a mod, so I'm following a book. what should I do? NOTE: this mod is for 1.7.10

Upon first downloading the latest recommended version of forge for 1.7.10, when i load up the game it appears with a "forge installing" screen below the Mojang logo. The game then freezes when bar reaches "6/7 Loading - Finishing up" and can only be shut down using force quit.
