  1. Amazing! It worked. You're a wizard. Thank you a great deal, this has been rattling me for some time now.
  2. There is no .minecraft/config/splash.properties file for me to edit, as there isn't a .minecraft/config/ Would there be any reason for it to not exist? or any other location it might be? And no, this isn't a troll.
  3. I'll start by saying that I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to computer-related problem solving, however, when it comes to Minecraft crash logs, I'm completely dumbfounded. I am terribly sorry for this. I actually haven't installed any other mods (jars) at the time of writing this. I've been having hiccups with getting forge to work since... 1.7.2? I believe? So this weekend I decided to do a complete reinstall. I deleted my original .minecraft folder and started fresh. At the time of running this, all I had was Minecraft + Forge. I've peeked through these forums a bit, as well as read the top problems and the EAQ. Again - I'm terrible when it comes to figuring out what crash error is actually my error, so the list of common problems felt like reading a different language. I installed Forge via http://files.minecraftforge.net/ - using the Download Recommended, 11.14.3.1450, Installer-Win file. When I attempt to start MC up, I open the launcher (1.6.19), using the Forge profile that was created by default (during my first trial, I actually used the original Forge profile, but renamed it. Thinking that would stupidly be an issue, I tried again without renaming it, obviously to no result). I am logged in, with 'Ready to play Minecraft 1.8-Forge11.14.3.1450'. When I press 'play', the game actually takes noticeably more time to open the Minecraft window, it holds black for a fraction of a second, never getting to the Mojang splash, and crashes out to the log - that, hopefully, I successfully posted above. If anyone could help me or point me into the right direction, I'd be incredibly grateful. And again, if it's a really obvious problem, I am truly sorry for my ignorance. And hopefully I did everything right to help you guys help me. Thank you.
