  1. Alrighty I redid java and it worked! Thank you both very much and I apologize for being a little slow with it, lol. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
  2. Thanks, I'll give it a shot then report back.
  3. Well you told me to drop the jar -jar since I have the none jar installer version, but I have both anyways so I wrote it exactly as you said and this came up: C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>java -jar forge-1.9.4-12.17.0.1937-installer-win.exe An error has occurred while processing the shared archive file. Unable to unmap shared space. Error occurred during initialization of VM Unable to use shared archive. Edit: realized that's two people talking. My apologies. Never posted pretty much on any support forum till now.
  4. C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>forge-1.9.4-12.17.0.1937-installer-win C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads> After typing it in, the admin permission thing popped up, I said yes, then nothing opened and the above was my output.
  5. C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>java -jar forge-1.9.4-12.17.0.1937-installer-win Error: Unable to access jarfile forge-1.9.4-12.17.0.1937-installer-win This is without the quotes and with the "<>" removed (As I recieved C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>java -jar <forge-1.9-12.16.1.1887-universal> The syntax of the command is incorrect. when I tried it with them). EDIT: I have both the installer-win version and the universal version, and tried them both, got the same output with both.
  6. I just realized I had "Type" copied as well, tried again without it and got C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>"java -jar <installer jar file>" '"java -jar <installer jar file>"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
  7. C:\Users\hotrodchic247\Downloads>Type "java -jar <installer jar file>" The system cannot find the file specified. is <installer jar file> supposed to be replaced with forge-1.9.4-12.17.0.1937-installer-win?
  8. Not sure how to do that.
  9. So I've been working on this for two days. I'm just getting forge so I can have a proper map, the in-game maps are just too much damn work to be worth it. So I have a fresh download of minecraft, downloaded two days ago. I have a fresh copy of the newest Java. When I download the newest recommended version of Forge I open it with Java and nothing happens. There's no log, there's no error report, nothing. I tried running as admin: nothing. I opened task manager to see if any program would pop up when I tried to run it, and there was no new programs running when I try to open it, so it's not even trying to make it work. I've tried javafix, and I've tried downloading different versions of forge. I've restarted, and reinstalled minecraft. I'm not sure what else to do at this point so here I am. Can anyone help me?
