  1. I was hoping i would get a refresher THROUGH the tutorials. I know how code works, i just dont know java, or forge. I went through three different classes showing the basics of OOP with python, C++, and C#. but given its been a while since i last needed to use it ... I should probably go through a quick refresher anyways. I have forgotten all the terms What exactly did i miss that i should have gotten?
  2. is there an up to date tutorial i can find? sounds like theres a lot of differences between 1.7 and 1.10
  3. I understand the basic concepts of coding, but not much of java. I had no idea that the classes were moved. The tut must be outdated then. Thanks for helping. So what is the right code?
  4. If you didnt read. im a newb. this happened while i was working on a tutorial for using the code in minecraft. i have no idea what the difference is. I can swear i am using forge 1.10 so is there something about 1.7 code? please excuse any apparent ignorance i have.
  5. im newb, and I couldnt find any decent tutorials on the file system of eclipse so i came here This is my problem. From a tut, i was told that ctrl+shift+o would insert all of the imports. However it is giving me this "resource is not on a build path of a java project" dialog http://imgur.com/tbaJxOg Trying to set the folder as the src folder creates confusion in the code. http://imgur.com/6Jjvd2u
  6. alright thank you i think i can fix it from here
  7. So i guess this doesnt solve anything. importing the folder into eclipse doesnt make it a project and theres still no src/java
  8. alright. that shouldnt be too hard. but when i run the gradlew command in command prompt it skips a bunch of things. how do i reset that?
  9. Im a newbie to modding, and was going through a tut. It told me I could get all the import code in with ctrl+shift+o, when i tried that it said it had trouble with a build path. After googling and fiddling around I ended totally screwing things up, and then fixing them, mostly. theres no src/java folder, and my project folder isnt a java project.
