    Forge Folder instead of Installer

    I'm trying to get pixelmon working for my son and having a hard time getting forge installed correctly. I've youtubed for hours trying to figure it out on my own without success. I use a mac, I've updated java and mincraft to version 1.11.2. I've downloaded the appropriate version of Forge. I get around the firewall prohibiting me from opening it but when I double click the .jar file to install it opens a file instead of a installer program. I could get the rest if I can get it installed but can't circumvent this. Help?
