Is it just the json and the entry in launcher_profiles which is missing?

I can't. I don't have admin on this macbook, and the jar is from an unverified developer. The Minecraft also is in my userspace Applications folder.

Hi, how would I create a new version (on mac) when I don't want to run the installer? I created a folder forge-1.10.2 in "/Users/iheinrich/Library/Application Support/minecraft/versions" and copied forge-1.10.2-12.18.3.2254-universal.jar forge-1.10.2.jar to it. However, the launcher doesn't recognize it. What did I miss? Thanks, inkihh
