unable to download minecraft forge

hello

as the title states, i am unfortunately unable to download minecraft forge.

when i go to the website and download the 'recommended' forge installer, it downloads (as usual), but when i open the file, it asks what file it wants me to open it with.

is this normal, and if so, what app do i use?

and if it's not, what setting can i change to fix this?

i've had minecraft forge a couple years back, and i've been dying to relive the nostalgia once more.

Make sure you have Java installed and try running Jarfix once, then try the installer again.

      I tried do download the essential mod to my mod pack but i didnt work. I paly on 1.21 and it should work. I use neoforge for my modding. The weird things is my friend somehow added the mod to his modpack and many others that I somehow can´t. Is there anything i can do?

      Thanks, I've now installed a slightly newer version and the server is at least starting up now.

      Do you have shaders enabled? There is an issue with the mod simpleclouds - remove this mod or disable shaders, if enabled
