Hello,

I was trying to set up my server to use Forge but, when using the installer, it doesn't seem to download the necessary .jar files to the folder.
I've spent the past hour searching online with no specific answer (I've must've missed something) so would greatly appreciate any help here :)

Have attached the installation log if it helps at all.

Many thanks
Leon

What makes you think this? What exactly are you looking for?

Pretty much all the tutorials Iโ€™ve read say that there should be two jar files in the base directory (see attached from one tutorial)โ€ฆ although Iโ€™m now thinking all of these tutorials may be outdated.

Since 1.17 Forge (like vanilla Minecraft) requires Java 16. As part of a change in Java we had to also change how the servers are launched. Use the .sh (Linux, Mac) or .bat (Windows) scripts generated by the installer.

Ah thank you very much for the info, glad I wasnโ€™t going crazy at 2am haha

thanks again :)
