How to make modded plant compatible with vanilla pot / flower forest generation pattern?

Hi there,

I've managed to mod in a flower that generates within the world, but I can't work out how to make it generate within the flower forest pattern and how to make it go in a pot. 

 

Any help appreciated with these issues or with modding in flowers / foliage in general.
