Forge doesn't load world but I can load it if I don't use Forge

I recently had my level become corrupted and I did the fix where I started a new world, took the level.dat of the new world and transferred it my old world. The world now loads fine when I use basic Minecraft without forge or mods but when I boot into Forge and try to load the level it stays stuck on the loading world screen. Note that if you open a Forge world in vanilla it irreparably damages the world.
