Is 1.8.9 vulnerable to log4j?

I have done a couple of tests on 1.8.9 forge (to see if it is vulnerable to log4j) and they all came back saying that it is not vulnerable...the only thing is that people at forge (on twitter) have said that anything between 1.7 and 1.11.2 is vulnerable so my question is: is it vulnerable or is 1.8.9 not counted?

I have tried the ${date:YYYY} command and it did not say 2021...does that mean 1.8.9 is not vulnerable?
