Forge not showing up as a version in launcher

So uhm, I'm having this problem where the version of forge for 1.8.9 does not appear in the launcher. I've searched in the "versions" folder and found it was there, but it is still not in the minecraft launcher as a version shown.

Configure browser push notifications
Chrome (Android)
  1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
  2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
  3. Adjust your preference.
Chrome (Desktop)
