Creating Hamachi server with friend

Hi all,

I've been watching a lot of old tutorials on how to set up servers and only just saw something about forge servers not working on .jar now, is there any free alternative that I could use in conjunction with Hamachi?

You start the server using the .sh or .bat file now. Hamachi, etc. is entirely irrelevant in how you start the server.

My problem is that i'm wanting to set up a Pixelmon server which is currently capped at 1.12.2 and the forge at 1.12.2 doesnt seem to have a .sh or .bat file in it, only a .jar.
