Posted March 3, 20223 yr LeftClickBlock ,AttackEntityEvent ,LeftClickEmpty as a test when detected, similar functionality to "Ender pearl" public static void Birch_Gun_Shot(Player player, Item playermainhanditem){ Item items = ModItems.BIRCH_GUN.get(); if (playermainhanditem==items) { ItemStack itemstack = player.getMainHandItem(); player.level.playSound((Player)null, player.getX(), player.getY(), player.getZ(), SoundEvents.ENDER_PEARL_THROW, SoundSource.NEUTRAL, 0.5F, 0.4F / (player.level.getRandom().nextFloat() * 0.4F + 0.8F)); player.getCooldowns().addCooldown(ModItems.BIRCH_GUN.get(), 20); //if (!player.level.isClientSide) { ThrownEnderpearl thrownenderpearl = new ThrownEnderpearl(player.level, player); // ThrownEnderpearl thrownenderpearl = new LargeFireball(player.level, player, d2, d3, d4, 10); thrownenderpearl.setItem(itemstack); thrownenderpearl.shootFromRotation(player, player.getXRot(), player.getYRot(), 0.0F, 1.5F, 1.0F); player.level.addFreshEntity(thrownenderpearl); // } } } I implemented it in the same way, but I would like to know why the object is not executed only in the case of empty! March 3, 20223 yr Author I made a temporary comment to check. https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/1.18.x/networking/simpleimpl/#sending-packets I am not familiar with this, but I assume you mean to use this
March 6, 20223 yr Author It could function. I have a few questions. 1. Why is only Empty provided server-side? 2. Why is there not a simple method like Item use? Expect :because no such functionality exists in vanilla. 3. I know there are exceptions, but I felt that all of these could be implemented via the server. I know that implementing everything via the network would not be clean code and would cause processing problems. But what is the reason for this separation? (Of course I am happy and grateful that there is a class for this.) I also think this requires network knowledge of java itself. In that case I'll study it. Edited March 6, 20223 yr by ocome
March 6, 20223 yr Author 13 minutes ago, diesieben07 said: You mean client side. The reason is that the client does not tell the server when the player left clicks with an empty hand. The server simply does not know. Oh, right, empty-handed detection. 13 minutes ago, diesieben07 said: I have no idea what you are talking about. public InteractionResultHolder<ItemStack> use(Level p_41190_, Player p_41191_, InteractionHand p_41192_) {} Why there is no method equivalent to this left click Sorry, that's an off-topic question. 13 minutes ago, diesieben07 said: What? question:Why not just have everything communicate with both client and server? I said something strange. I could understand it . Edited March 6, 20223 yr by ocome
