Posted December 24, 20222 yr I moved my .minecraft folder to my D Drive because the C drive was running out of space. I tried downloading forge but I couldn't see the Forge version I wanted in the Minecraft Launcher installations. I tried again and again and it's still not working. Seeking help so I can finally install forge properly.
December 24, 20222 yr Assuming you redirected your launcher to use the .minecraft folder in the D drive, you would also need to tell Forge where in the D drive the minecraft folder is located; otherwise, you won't be able to see it in the launcher installations.
December 25, 20222 yr Author I directed the forge installer to the .minecraft folder on my d drive when I downloaded it. It still doesn't work.
December 25, 20222 yr Ok, then I'm going to assume you didn't redirect your launcher to use the .minecraft folder in the D drive. If you copied and pasted it assuming it does, then that won't work. You either need to force the minecraft launcher to use the .minecraft folder in the separate folder using the `-w` or `--workDir` arguments or create a symlink to the .minecraft folder in the D drive to where it's supposed to be in the C drive.
January 12, 20232 yr Author in the tutorial i saw, im supposed to make a new installation before installing forge. i made a new installation directed it to the .minecraft folder. i downloaded forge but saw no forge installation. i saw a tutorial online on how to fix this and said to direct when downloading to this file called something like launcher_accounts_microsoft_store but the file wont show as an option when im picking a directory to install forge.
January 12, 20232 yr Author btw, i didnt really understand what you were recommending me to do in your last comment.
