I want to install forge Minecraft 1.12.2 on Linux/Ubuntu/Pop_OS And I get the following error:

home@pop-os:~/Downloads$ java -jar forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2860-installer.jar

Same thing happens with 1.18.2 (haven't tried any other versions but I think they're broken too)

Hope someone can help me!

This is a java problem, not a forge problem. Try other methods of launching jar files and make sure you have a compatible version of java.

I'm not good at modding, but at least I can read a crash report (well enough). That's something, right?
