My forge server is not working with it saying servers are down how do I fix this

I have added mods and Essentials is not working so I removed it. I have also added a world that I wanted to turn into a server seems to be working when I join I get to joining the world and then validating and then get the error from the screen shot above

are the servers actually down?

My firewall is off and I am also using a VPN (RadminVPN) so that could be it

Currently, you are on offline mode. I would suggest restarting your Minecraft client and see whether that fixes the issue. This is purely a thing with Mojang and its authentication services and has nothing to do with Forge.
