I have both Optifine and forge installed (separately) every time i put the Optifine installer (I've watched about 5 different videos on it I have the right one) into the forge mods folder AFTER i have Minecraft open(on main menu screen) it will not load, when I put Optifine in the folder before Minecraft is open (while I'm in the launcher) it gives me error code 1. I'm using 1.19.3 for both of the programs and am relatively sure that compatibility isn't the problem because I've done it in previous versions too and it's the same thing. I've uninstalled Minecraft and re installed it to try again and still didn't work, I've also used both java 20 and 17. If anyone has a fix I'd be grateful.

First, OptiFine needs to go in the mods folder if you want to use it with Forge. Second, OptiFine only supports specific versions of Forge, which you can find on their website. Third, you should be using Java 17 with 1.19 versions. Fourth, don't use OptiFine, it's known to break most mods. I would recommend using an alternative whenever possible
