forge wouldn't install

hi i want to instal forge but when i launch it there is an error messge:


Failed to run processor: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.Sun CertPath BuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

In order to root out one of the more common issues, we'll need to see your hosts file. Here's the steps to getting this file.

1) Press the Win + R key on your keyboard.

2) Paste the following into the prompt that opens: notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

3) Use Ctrl+A to select everything in the file, then Ctrl+C into the textbox to post to this thread.

You're welcome to join the Forge discord, but that doesn't change what you need to do. You'll receive the same help. Simply copy the contents of the open file here.

  3. Adjust your preference.
