Modded servers saying they’re vanilla

Didn’t know how to title this or quite where to ask about this very odd problem I’m having. If I need to move this else where I absolutely will. ٩(ᐛ)و

So recently a friend of mine made a custom modded server. I added all the correct mods into a new pack on the forge app. However when I added my friends server and tried to join it kept disconnecting me? Plus it keeps saying the server is vanilla. Now all of my modded servers say they’re vanilla. When I booted up vanilla and tried to run my friends server it said the server was modded. I’m really super confused as I’ve never had this problem before? Also I use a Mac so I’m sorry if that also puts a kink into solving the problem.

(((SOLVED))) Loading into certain worlds stuck on "Reading world data" then stops responding.

I just found a solution 2 minutes ago, you have to make a copy of your world (go into the folder, go to saves, save your world as zip, put it on desktop for later.) After you make a copy uninstall the mod pack/version entirely. Reinstall, then put the copy of the world you made back in the saves folder. And boom you can play again.

Using Online Tools are Cheating in Minecraft

I’ve been experimenting with building different shapes in Minecraft lately - circles, domes, curves, and other structures that are normally pretty tough to get right using only block placement by hand. To help with this, I started using a few online tools like circle generators and shape planners, and they’ve made the process much smoother and more accurate. It does make me wonder though - are these kinds of tools considered cheating, or just helpful building references? I still gather all the materials myself and place every block manually, so to me it feels more like a building aid than something unfair, but I’d love to hear what others think.
