I am trying to give the player the effect of sneaking except the acual crouch rendering. The problem is, I have looked all over the code and I cannot find anyehere something like this is called. Can someone please direct me?

If you search the code for calls to .isSneaking() you will find what you're looking for.

 

For example

reduced visibility to mobs, look in World.getClosestVulnerablePlayer

reduced name visibility, look in RendererLivingEntity.passSpecialRender

I am new to modding, how exactly would i code that? do i override the method or do i need to modify the World class?

Locate the forge hook in the method you want to change.

Search the corresponding event class.

Register to the event bus and use the event class to perform changes.

 

If there isn't a forge hook, use ITickHandler.
