Odd connection issue (not able to join server)

I'm trying to connect to a friends modpack. And every time I try to join it prints "Failed to log in: The authentication servers are currently not reachable. Please try again." I think the issue I'm having is with forge specifically because the same issue occurs with non of the mods installed as well. I have tried looking online for resources to trouble shoot it myself but I just can't seem to find anything. I have attempted installing forge though curseforge launcher and manually installing it. ran the minecraft launcher as Administrator and even turned off my firewall to check if that was the issue. Nothing has worked so far and I'm out of ideas.
